SAN FRANCISCO AND PLACENTIA, CALIFORNIA - Water mist fire suppression systems have piqued the interest of many fire protection professionals in recent years.

The technology isn’t new, but the National Fire Protection Association recently formed the Committee on Water Mist Systems to further research the topic, so we thought we would take this opportunity to explain a bit about these systems, including their potential benefits.

Water misting systems have become a significant growth area in the realm of fire suppression systems, says Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of the San Francisco fire protection company Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., which is an affiliate of American Professional Services. (more…)

Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., a Placentia and San Francisco, fire protection company, said he hopes that this study will appeal to owners of older restaurants and commercial dining facilities who have been “grandfathered in” and lack adequate fire suppression systems and convince them that now is the time to make these important upgrades.

The March 2010 study was released by FM Global, a property insurance company that conducts property loss prevention research. It is the result of ongoing global efforts to reduce life cycle carbon emissions and improve sustainability, according to the report, which The Fire Sprinkler Initiative, a project of the National Fire Protection Association, recently posted on its website . PLACENTIA, CALIFORNIA — California businesses install fire protection systems and fire alarms in their buildings, but hope they never have to use them.

Although having a building catch fire is unlikely, it is a good idea to perform routine fire alarm system tests so property owners can be confident that in the unlikely event of a fire, they will function as planned, said Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of the Bay area fire protection company Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., an affiliate of American Professional Services (APS-Hoods).

Nationwide Fire Protection Corp. has provided Bay area fire system installations and other services from its Denver headquarters since the company began in 1989.
