PLACENTIA AND LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA—Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., a Los Angeles fire protection company, will expand its operations throughout California this summer.

The company has issued the call for experienced electrical and mechanical contractors who are interested in expanding their knowledge base and want to learn to install, service and repair fire protection systems, said Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., an affiliate of American Professional Services (APS-Hoods).

The headquarters for Nationwide are located in Colorado, but the company saw the demand for its services in California and opened a fabrication facility in Placentia last August in an effort to meet the demand for Los Angeles fire sprinkler system installation and service requests.

Since the fabrication facility opened, Nationwide has experienced a steady climb in Los Angeles fire suppression system installation calls and inquiries, Farazandeh said.
Because of that, the company is ready to provide its services beyond the greater Los Angeles and Bay areas.

“We also have determined that we want to cross-train our employees in fire protection and hood cleaning so they can respond to calls for Nationwide and for APS-Hoods,” he said. “This will be more efficient for us because we can send one crew to perform multiple jobs and it will be more convenient and cost effective for the client because one crew will do everything in one trip, if necessary.”
The plan is to train the hood cleaning crew chiefs to inspect fire suppression systems.

“Restaurant owners and managers seem to like to streamline processes when possible,” Farazandeh said. “I think more restaurants would be inclined to do business with a company that can provide a variety of services in one visit.”
Even with cross-training, however, Nationwide still is in need of additional contractors so the company can provide timely, expert service to other parts of the state.
