PLACENTIA, CALIFORNIA— Nationwide Fire Protection Corp., a Modesto fire alarm systems company, recently entered the world of social media as a means of connecting with existing and potential clients.

NFP has joined LinkedIn, a social networking site that is oriented toward business connections and was launched in May 2003. As of July, more than 43 million people representing 170 industries had registered on the social networking site.

There are a lot of reasons for Nationwide Fire Protection to participate in the LinkedIn community, said Massoud Farazandeh, general manager of the company, which opened a satellite location in Placentia, CA in August to better serve the Modesto fire protection systems market, as well as markets throughout the state.
